Microsoft Launches AI Assistant Microsoft 365 Copilot for Enterprise Customers at $30 per User per Month
AI-powered tool compatible with Office apps supports multiple languages, revolutionizes document creation and editing; future plans of integration into Windows, with pilot features already available to Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 subscribers at a minimum commitment of 300 users.
- Microsoft has launched an AI assistant named Microsoft 365 Copilot for enterprise customers, costing $30 per user per month with a minimum commitment of 300 users. The assistant is compatible with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot uses data from Microsoft Graph, the Microsoft 365 apps, and web to personalize use cases. Features include writing an email, creating a presentation based on a document, and summarizing meeting.
- The AI assistant currently supports multiple languages including English (US, GB, AU, CA, IN), Spanish (ES, MX), Japanese, French (FR, CA), German, Portuguese (BR), Italian, and Chinese Simplified. Plans are in place to add support for additional languages in the first half of 2024.
- Microsoft plans to integrate the Copilot feature into Windows and replace the iconic start button with the assistant in Windows 12. Copilot is also set to replace Cortana, Windows' long-running smart assistant.
- Despite a relatively quiet launch, analysts believe copilot could generate over $10 billion in annualized revenue by 2026. About 40% of Fortune 100 companies were already using Copilot in an early-access program.
