Out-of-band patches follow Patch Tuesday regressions.

  • On January 17, Microsoft released KB5077744 for Windows 11 25H2/24H2 to resolve Remote Desktop sign-in failures tied to broken credential prompts in the Windows App.
  • Microsoft also issued KB5077797 for Windows 11 23H2 to fix a shutdown and hibernation problem on some Secure Launch systems that caused unexpected restarts.
  • Microsoft confirms a separate issue where Outlook Classic can crash or hang with POP accounts after the January updates, and no fix is available yet.
