Overview
- The feature is currently available to Windows Insider testers in the Windows 11 Canary Channel.
- Unlike the regular mode that triggers at low battery, it responds to idle or light workloads to apply energy-saving measures proactively.
- The adaptive energy saver pauses non-essential Windows Update downloads and may prevent full syncing of apps like OneDrive, OneNote and Phone Link while active.
- Users must manually opt in through system settings before the feature can activate.
- It works only on battery-powered devices—including laptops, tablets and handheld PCs—and is not available on desktop PCs.
