• As of July 18, 2025, Microsoft has disabled all movie and TV show purchases and rentals on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs
• Previously purchased movies and TV shows remain playable in the Movies & TV app with continued HD download and playback support
• The company is not offering refunds for any past movie or TV transactions under its Microsoft Store Terms of Sale
• Microsoft provided no explanation for the abrupt shutdown and declined to comment further when contacted by media
• Microsoft’s FAQ directs U.S. customers to the Movies Anywhere cloud service or third-party platforms such as Prime Video, Fandango at Home and Apple TV for future video purchases
