- Developers and spotters found two new flags in Edge Canary that add an Apple sign-in button and enable signing in with an Apple Account for Edge profiles.
- Microsoft’s Edge Beta 152 release notes list Apple Account sign-in as a controlled rollout on Windows and macOS, meaning the feature is being validated for a limited group of users and is not yet widely available.
- When enabled, the sign-in option will let Apple users sync bookmarks, history and profile data between iPhones and Windows or macOS PCs without using a Microsoft Account.
- This move follows earlier support for Google Account sign-in in Edge and reflects Microsoft’s recent choice to let people use non-Microsoft accounts to keep cross-device users in its browser.
- The Canary flags use explicit names such as “Sign in with Apple” and “Apple Sign-In Button on Profile Menu,” and the feature could change or be restricted before full public release.
