Microsoft Brings Halo to PlayStation With UE5 Remake in 2026

Announced under the Halo Studios banner, the relaunch points to a broader access strategy through day-one Game Pass availability.

Overview

  • Halo: Campaign Evolved, a ground-up remake of the 2001 campaign, will release in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC and, for the first time in a mainline entry, PlayStation 5.
  • Microsoft confirmed day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, with support for Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere.
  • Rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, the project targets modern presentation with 4K visuals, new animations, revised cinematics, remastered music and re-recorded voice lines.
  • Level design has been reworked for pacing and clarity, including a notable overhaul of The Library mission.
  • Content updates include three new prequel missions starring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson, added weapons, vehicles and enemies, plus campaign co-op (local two-player split-screen and online for up to four) while PvP multiplayer will be absent.
