Microsoft and LG Bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to Select Cars in Beta

The rollout starts on LG’s webOS Automotive in Kia’s latest models, with access limited during the beta.

Overview

  • Microsoft and LG confirmed a native Xbox app for LG’s Automotive Content Platform that streams games to in-car screens via the cloud.
  • Use requires an active Game Pass Ultimate membership, an automotive data plan, and a compatible Bluetooth controller.
  • Xbox says the feature is for passengers and compliant with driving-safety rules, and LG showcased it on a Kia EV3 at IAA Mobility in Munich.
  • LG says ACP will expand to Kia’s EV4, EV5, and the new Sportage, but neither company has published a full list of supported vehicles.
  • Hundreds of Game Pass titles and select owned games will be streamable, and LG is also adding a native Zoom app as it targets ACP in up to 20 million vehicles by 2030.
