Overview

  • Microsoft and Asus announced the ROG Xbox Ally at the Xbox Games Showcase, scheduling availability in more than 30 countries by late 2025.
  • The handheld boots to a dedicated Xbox interface on Windows 11, granting native access to Game Pass, cloud streaming and popular PC storefronts such as Steam and Epic Games Store.
  • Users will be able to run PC versions of Microsoft’s and Sony’s first-party titles, including God of War Ragnarök and The Last of Us, thanks to the open Windows platform.
  • The series comprises a base Ally powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 A with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage and a premium Ally X featuring a Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD.
  • Xbox head Phil Spencer described the collaboration with Asus and Microsoft’s Windows division as his tightest in three decades and signaled the development of handheld-optimized titles.
