Overview

  • Both ROG Xbox Ally handhelds sport a 7-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, variable refresh support, and ergonomic hand grips modeled on the Xbox Wireless Controller.
  • The standard Ally runs on an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, while the Ally X upgrades to an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip with 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and impulse triggers.
  • Powered by Windows 11, the devices boot into a new Xbox full-screen experience that consolidates games from Xbox Game Pass and third-party PC storefronts while minimizing background tasks to boost performance.
  • Microsoft and Asus plan to launch the handhelds during the 2025 holiday season in over 30 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Australia.
  • New purchasers will receive a free trial of Xbox Game Pass, and Microsoft has partnered with Roblox for a day-one optimized release as it develops a ‘verified for handheld’ label for compatible titles.
