Overview
- Microsoft collaborated with Asus to build two models: the Xbox Ally with AMD Ryzen Z2 A, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, and the Xbox Ally X with a faster Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD.
- Both handhelds feature a 7-inch Full HD display at 120Hz with VRR support and are built around the new Xbox Full Screen Experience interface that frees up system resources for gaming.
- The devices boot directly into the Xbox PC client, granting access to Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic Games Store and other PC game libraries along with Xbox Cloud Gaming and remote console streaming.
- They are slated to launch in the 2025 holiday season, with Microsoft yet to reveal final pricing for either model.
- Microsoft plans to roll out these Windows 11 handheld optimizations to third-party manufacturers beginning in 2026.
