Microsoft Adds SpaceXAI’s Grok to Copilot Preview

The controlled rollout gives eligible Frontier customers new model choice while keeping administrators able to enable and monitor SpaceXAI as a listed subprocessor.

Overview

  • Microsoft announced on Saturday that it is adding SpaceXAI’s Grok models to Copilot as a focused preview for eligible Frontier customers in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The preview excludes customers in the EU, EFTA and the UK and requires a disabled-by-default admin setting that organizations must enable to allow Grok access.
  • Microsoft added SpaceXAI to its Online Services Subprocessor List so administrators can see and manage where third-party models process organizational data.
  • The integration runs on Azure AI Foundry and follows Microsoft’s multi-model strategy that already includes GPT and Claude to let teams pick different models for different tasks.
  • SpaceXAI has signaled a brief delay to its next major model, Grok 4.7, which leaves near-term upgrades and their effects on enterprise performance and safety still evolving.
