Microsoft Adds Native macOS Screen Sharing to Teams for Mac in Preview

The preview hands off sharing to Apple’s built-in controls to give Mac users a faster, native feel.

Overview

  • Access is limited to Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted release on Mac, with IT administrators required to allow preview features.
  • The capability is off by default and can be enabled in Settings > General by toggling Use macOS content sharing.
  • Using the macOS interface disables Give or Take control during a screen share.
  • No application restart is needed after enabling the option.
  • Microsoft positions the change as improving security and workflows, and the Microsoft 365 Message Center indicates general availability is planned for January 2026.
