Overview
- The latest Windows 11 preview automatically detects performance hiccups and logs them to a temporary system folder for Feedback Hub reviews.
- Logs remain on users’ PCs until they are voluntarily sent through a new “system sluggishness” section in the Feedback Hub.
- Microsoft plans to use these richer diagnostics to pinpoint bottlenecks and accelerate performance and reliability fixes in the 25H2 update later this year.
- Developers must now run static analysis checks on drivers to earn certification, aiming to catch code issues before drivers reach users.
- The effort extends prior Windows 11 optimizations from 2023 and last year’s 24H2 release that improved taskbar, notifications, quick settings and startup app performance.
