Overview

  • Micron has begun shipping samples of its 9650 Gen6 SSD, which offers up to 28 GB/s sequential reads, 14 GB/s writes, 5.5 million random read IOPS and endurance rated up to 282,600 TBW.
  • The 9650 is built exclusively for AI and enterprise servers in E1.S and E3.S form factors to support high-density rack deployments.
  • Sample shipments of the 7600 Gen5 SSD are underway, delivering sub-1 ms response times tailored for AI inference and mixed workloads in E1.S, E3.S and U.2 formats.
  • The QLC-based 6600 ION family offers up to 122.88 TB per drive with 4.9 TB per watt power efficiency and is slated for volume shipments in Q3 2025.
  • A 245 TB 6600 ION variant is scheduled for early 2026 as part of Micron’s vertically integrated strategy leveraging its in-house G9 NAND, controllers and firmware.
