- Micron publicly demonstrated a working 512GB DDR5 RDIMM on Tuesday, showing a single-slot module the company says can run across multiple server platforms at up to 9,200 MT/s.
- The module achieves its density by vertically stacking DRAM dies inside packages and linking them with through-silicon vias (TSVs) so a single DIMM can hold 512GB without increasing the card footprint.
- Micron reported that one 512GB RDIMM draws about 16.0 watts versus 44.2 watts for four 128GB modules, representing a company‑reported operating power drop of more than 60% for the same capacity.
