Michoacán Prosecutors Execute Arrest Warrants in Three Morelia Homicide Cases

The specialized homicide unit pursued judge-approved warrants based on evidence gathered in each case.

Overview

  • Authorities served an arrest warrant on Mario Arturo “N,” known as el Calabazo/Delta, for the alleged killing of Kevin Israel C. on a rural path near San José Coapa and Cuanajillo del Toro in February 2024, executing the order while he was already in custody for another offense.
  • Prosecutors arrested Édgar Ulises “N,” Giovanni “N,” and Atziri “N” for the alleged homicide of José Guadalupe C. on September 18 in Villas del Pedregal after an attempted abduction involving two motorcycles and a gray Chevrolet Aveo.
  • The FGE also detained José Fernando “N,” el Chetis, and Selene “N” for alleged homicide and attempted homicide in a September 28 shooting at a brickworks in Colonia Pablo Galeana that left two workers dead and one injured.
  • Édgar Ulises “N,” Giovanni “N,” and Atziri “N” were interned at the “Lic. David Franco Rodríguez” state penitentiary and placed at the disposal of judicial authorities to determine their legal status.
  • Following ministerial investigations, a control judge granted the requested warrants, and the detainees in the brickworks case are to be presented to the judiciary for proceedings under due process.
