Security leaders cite active warrants for homicide, extortion, pledging his capture.

Overview

  • Michoacán Attorney General Carlos Torres Piña said it is proven that César Alejandro Sepúlveda, known as “El Botox,” was the intellectual author of Bernardo Bravo’s assassination.
  • Authorities said arrest warrants were secured on Nov. 5–6, 2025 for homicide and extortion, with additional warrants related to the case still pending.
  • National Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch labeled Sepúlveda a priority target, noted his 2018 detention and release, and asserted he will be apprehended.
  • A new video shows Sepúlveda denying he killed Bravo, accusing Jaime Bravo of collaborating with criminal groups and moving drug money from the United States to Apatzingán, and urging federal scrutiny.
  • Sepúlveda also alleges his wife and daughter were unlawfully detained and demands their release, while federal and state forces continue search operations in Tierra Caliente and a 100,000‑peso reward remains in place.
