Michoacán Opens 2025–26 School Year as SEE Moves to Regularize Staffing

Education leaders urge reporting of no-show teachers through the state Contraloría to reinforce oversight.

Overview

  • Schools opened across all 113 municipalities for nearly one million students, according to state education officials.
  • The SEE issued 572 primary school assignment orders across 71 municipalities and carried out roughly 1,100 interzone, general changes and swaps.
  • At the secondary level, 6,000 hours were allocated to teachers with existing contracts to advance regularization and reduce reliance on temporary staff.
  • Parents and administrators were asked to report absent assigned teachers via the Contraloría complaint form provided by the state.
  • Officials credited the restored USICAMM-backed interzone transfer process and new document security features with limiting irregular assignments, while acknowledging some placements and hour adjustments remain pending.
