Overview
- The package raises federal resources for water infrastructure by more than 30%, according to state officials.
- The federal government earmarked MXN 800 million for the Agua para Todos program to build networks, storage tanks, treatment and potabilization plants, and to rehabilitate wells.
- More than MXN 800 million will fund 114 potable-water works across the Bajío, Coast, Ciénega, Meseta Purépecha, Eastern zone, Tierra Caliente and Uruapan regions.
- An initial MXN 330 million will expand sanitation, prioritizing the cleanup of Lake Pátzcuaro, the Duero River and the Lerma basin through new plants, drainage extensions and collector upgrades.
