  • Michoacán Congress unanimously voted 37–0 to swear in Josué Mejía and Víctor Serrato during an extraordinary session on July 27.
  • Josué Alfonso Mejía Pineda was elected from a three-person shortlist by the Legislative Commissions on Human Rights and Justice to lead the State Human Rights Commission.
  • Víctor Manuel Serrato Lozano was nominated by the governor’s office and approved by the Justice Commission to head the State Executive Commission for Victim Attention.
  • Both appointees will serve four-year, non-renewable mandates beginning on August 18.
