• Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla officially launched the active restoration of Plaza Gertrudis Bocanegra on July 24.
• The state has committed 27 million pesos to rehabilitate over 4,000 square meters under the supervision of INAH.
• Current works include installing accessibility ramps, scenic lighting on fountains and monuments, ambient sound systems and upgraded public lighting.
• The project also restores cantera benches, gardens and paving while creating a direct pedestrian link to the municipal market.
• Officials say the upgrades aim to conserve Pátzcuaro’s architectural heritage and strengthen its appeal as a Pueblo Mágico for residents and visitors.
