Michigan Toddler Fatally Struck by Car After Wandering Out of Home

The 2-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle after leaving her bed while her parents worked around the house.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 13, 2024, in Allen Township, Michigan.
The toddler was put to bed by her parents but later walked out of the house and onto Chicago Street.
A 38-year-old man driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta struck the child, who was found lying in the road by responding troopers.
The girl was transported to Hillsdale Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police stated that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, and an autopsy is being performed as the investigation continues.
