Michigan Couple Dies in Separate Tragedies Within 24 Hours
Scott and Mary Lou Levitan, both 66, passed away following an ice-fishing accident and a car crash in Oakland County, Michigan.

- His 15-year-old grandson also fell into the water during a rescue attempt but was saved by a neighbor and later treated and released from the hospital.
- Mary Lou Levitan died in a car crash on December 27 while traveling to retrieve her husband’s vehicle from the ice-fishing site.
- The crash occurred when a 19-year-old driver crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the vehicle in which Mary Lou was a backseat passenger.
- Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard described the events as an 'unspeakable tragedy,' with investigations into the car crash ongoing.
