Michigan coach Juwan Howard undergoes successful heart surgery, expected to make full recovery

Michigan basketball coach Juwan Howard had surgery to remove an aortic aneurysm and repair his aortic valve.
The procedure was performed at University of Michigan Health and Howard is grateful for the care he received.
Howard is projected to make a full recovery in 6-12 weeks and could return to coaching in 4-6 weeks.
Associate head coach Phil Martelli will serve as interim head coach during Howard's absence.
Michigan's regular season begins November 7th, giving Howard time to potentially return for the start of games.
