Michelin’s 2025 Northeast Cities Guide Debuts Boston and Philadelphia as Sushi Sho Takes Lone Three-Star

City tourism leaders tout the selections as catalysts for visits and hiring.

  • New York saw six changes, with Sushi Sho promoted to three stars, Joo Ok elevated to two, and first-time one-star awards to Bridges, Muku, Huso and Yamada.
  • Boston earned its first star for 311 Omakase and picked up six Bib Gourmands, plus an Exceptional Cocktails nod for Brookline’s Mahaniyom, for 26 total recognitions.
  • Philadelphia notched inaugural one-star ratings for Friday Saturday Sunday, Provenance and Her Place Supper Club, received 10 Bib Gourmands and saw Pietramala awarded a Green Star.
  • The guide also formalized high-profile downgrades, with Alinea, Masa and The Inn at Little Washington reduced from three stars to two.
