Overview
- More than 20 restaurants, cafes and bakeries in Mexico City will serve their regular menus with diners setting the price of the food on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
- Beverages will be charged at listed menu prices, there are no minimums and no reservations are required, according to organizers.
- The lineup includes Masala y Maíz, Expendio de Maíz and Baldío, alongside spots such as Cicatriz Café, Malix, Mux México, Loup Bar, Fideo Gordo and others.
- One venue in Mérida will participate, and the roster may grow, so attendees are urged to arrive early and check venues’ or Masala y Maíz’s social channels for updates.
- Founded by Norma Listman and Saqqib Keval at Masala y Maíz in 2017, the model aims to broaden access to quality dining and could be replicated elsewhere if the citywide test succeeds.
