Overview
- The MICHELIN Guide published its 2026 Texas selection on Thursday, awarding One MICHELIN Stars to Fabrik and Kappo Kappo in Austin and Goldee’s BarBQ in Fort Worth.
- With the new awards, Texas now has 19 MICHELIN-Starred restaurants and the full selection lists 149 restaurants statewide.
- Houston kept all six of its one-star restaurants and added no new stars this year while Houston-area restaurants also saw 21 Bib Gourmand honors with five newcomers.
- Austin lost one previously starred restaurant when La Barbecue was moved from the starred list to Recommended, and the guide added six new Bib Gourmand entries plus 16 new Recommended restaurants across Texas.
- The announcement comes as the original three-year, $1.35 million state-and-city funding agreement ended and officials from the state and five cities are negotiating whether to renew or reshape the program, a decision that could affect tourism promotion and reservation demand for honorees.
