Michael Tait Confesses to Sexual Misconduct and Drug Abuse

K-Love has paused airplay of Newsboys and DC Talk music after his Instagram confession.

Overview

  • In an Instagram post titled “My Confession” on June 10, Tait admitted to two decades of cocaine and alcohol abuse and acknowledged making unwanted sensual advances toward men.
  • The Roys Report’s June 4 investigation, based on interviews with more than 50 sources, accused Tait of grooming and sexually assaulting three men between 2004 and 2014.
  • Current Newsboys members described themselves as “horrified, heartbroken and angry” at the accusations and encouraged any additional victims to come forward.
  • K-Love, a leading Christian radio network, has paused airplay of Newsboys and DC Talk tracks pending further developments in the investigation.
  • Tait, who left Newsboys in January to seek help, has been sober since completing a six-week treatment program in Utah and has apologized while pledging to pursue private repentance and healing.
