Michael Sarnoski to Direct and Write A24’s Death Stranding Film

A24 and Kojima Productions are co-producing the live-action Death Stranding film, with Michael Sarnoski confirmed as its director and writer.
The movie will delve into the catastrophic events known as the 'Death Stranding,' which blurred the lines between the living and the dead, creating a fragmented post-apocalyptic world.
Sarnoski, known for critically acclaimed films like Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One, was chosen due to his ability to expand established universes with character-driven storytelling.
Hideo Kojima is deeply involved in producing and supervising the project but has confirmed he will not direct the movie himself.
The film is part of a broader Death Stranding franchise expansion, with the sequel game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach set to release on June 26, 2025.
