Overview

  • Bourbon Steak returns to 335 Powell St. in October, marking Mina’s comeback to the landmark hotel where his namesake restaurant rose to acclaim.
  • Adjacent bar The Eighth Rule, developed by Stephen Curry, will be a roughly 40-seat, reservation-only bourbon venue operated by Mina Group and open until 2 a.m.
  • The Westin St. Francis lobby has been fully reconfigured with a new Powell Street entrance, a central bar, and a stage for live music until 2 a.m. on weekends, with interiors by AvroKO.
  • Bourbon Steak will feature theatrical service and classics, including a roaming fish cart, tableside Wagyu torching, seafood twists, a lobster pot pie, and a separate Bourbon Lounge bar.
  • Mina frames the reopening as a vote of confidence in downtown, citing recent sales rebounds at Pabu Izakaya and longstanding ties with the Currys, including Ayesha Curry’s International Smoke.
