Michael Clarke Says He Had Another Skin Cancer Removed From His Nose Last Month

He is urging regular skin checks as he links his risk to years of sun exposure in professional cricket.

Overview

  • He told The Kyle and Jackie O Show he had a lesion taken off his nose about four weeks ago and continues dermatology visits every six months.
  • He said he has had multiple melanomas and other lesions removed over the years, estimating seven excisions from his face.
  • He outlined his typical care, saying sunspots are frozen while basal cell cancers are surgically cut out.
  • In August he posted a photo with a bandage on his nose urging followers to get checked and thanked surgeon Dr Bish Soliman.
  • First diagnosed in 2006, he attributes his repeated cancers to long days in the sun during his playing career and has voiced concern about being there for his daughter.
