Miami Heat to Retire Udonis Haslem's No. 40 Jersey
Haslem, a 20-year veteran of the franchise, will join five other Miami greats in having his number retired.
- Udonis Haslem's No. 40 jersey will be retired by the Miami Heat on January 19, during halftime of the Heat's game against the Atlanta Hawks.
- Haslem will become the sixth player in Miami Heat history to have his number retired, joining the ranks of Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway.
- Haslem, who is now the Heat's vice president of basketball development, spent his entire 20-year career with Miami, signing as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in August 2003.
- He is one of only three players in NBA history to play with one franchise for 20 seasons, the other two being Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and Dallas Mavericks icon Dirk Nowitzki.
- Haslem is Miami's all-time rebounding leader and ranks second in team history in games played, starts and minutes.
