Mühlberg Strengthens Flood Defenses with New Dike Sections

Two newly reinforced dike sections in Mühlberg, totaling over a kilometer, have been officially commissioned after a €9 million investment.
The recent construction is part of a larger initiative to strengthen the Elbe's main dikes, with nearly three-quarters of the dikes in the region already renewed.
The total cost of the flood protection upgrades in the Mühlberg area is projected to reach €50 million, covering over 13 kilometers of dikes.

Since the devastating Oder flood in 1997, Brandenburg has allocated approximately €900 million to enhance flood defenses across the state.
