Overview

  • On July 7, MHADA and Adani Properties formalized a Construction & Development agreement for the 143-acre Motilal Nagar I-III colonies project in Goregaon West
  • The ₹36,000-crore plan will rehabilitate 3,372 MHADA residential units, 328 commercial spaces and 1,600 slum dwellings into free 1,600 sq ft apartments under the 1971 Slum Act
  • Dutch architect Mecanoo and British consultancy Buro Happold delivered a ‘15-minute city’ master plan featuring a five-acre central park and integrated schools, hospitals and transit links
  • The Bombay High Court upheld MHADA’s single-package C&D approach despite resident appeals for larger tenements, mandating direct shifting into new flats without alternate accommodation
  • Construction is set to begin this month under a seven-year timeline financed by the developer’s handover of 397,100 sq m of built-up area to MHADA to fund public amenities and rehabilitation
