MG Unveils Mid-Size S6 EV in ADR Filings, Completing Six-Model EV Range

Australian Design Rule filings confirm its dimensions, battery sizes alongside separate rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive setups ahead of its first-half 2026 debut.

Overview

  • ADR certification documents show the S6 EV measures 4,708 mm long, 1,912 mm wide and 1,664 mm tall on a 2,835 mm wheelbase with 190 mm of ground clearance.
  • The model offers 62.2 kWh and 77 kWh battery packs paired with single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive setups delivering up to 266 kW.
  • Scheduled for launch in Australia in the first half of 2026, the S6 EV will become the sixth electric vehicle in MG’s lineup, spanning entry-level to premium segments.
  • MG’s rebadged IM5 liftback and IM6 SUV are now on sale at $60,990 drive-away, backed by seven-year vehicle and eight-year battery warranties and capped-price servicing, with WLTP ranges of 490–655 km and 450–550 km respectively.
  • MG UK’s head of product says a larger MGS6 SUV and a compact MG2 supermini are expected in 2026, while the IM6 awaits formal ANCAP and Euro NCAP crash ratings.
