Mexico’s Youth Apprenticeship Program Opens Oct. 1 Registration With Focus on High-Need Municipalities

Overview

  • The new registration and linkage window begins on October 1 with priority for municipalities identified with greater social lag via the program’s focalization map.
  • Eligible applicants are 18–29 years old, not currently studying or working, and must register online with official ID, CURP and a recent proof of address.
  • Participants receive up to 12 months of workplace training, an 8,480‑peso monthly stipend, IMSS medical coverage and free materials.
  • STPS reports 378,628 trainees so far in 2025, requiring an expenditure of 16 billion pesos to support this cohort.
  • Since its launch, the program has enrolled 3,352,089 young people, with women representing 58 percent of participants.
