Mexico’s Judicial Administration Assigns 846 Elected Judges and Magistrates to Posts Nationwide

The OAJ framed the placements as a workload-driven step toward a more accessible justice system.

Overview

  • The Pleno of the Órgano de Administración Judicial unanimously approved the jurisdictional adscriptions for all 846 officials elected in June.
  • Official listings, including commissions, reassignments and designations, were published online for public consultation.
  • Reports differ on when the cohort formally assumes duties, with 24 Horas citing September 17 for “en funciones” status and Milenio reporting adscription beginning September 15.
  • Named placements include Delia Icela Quiroa in the Third District Court in Culiacán, Madián Sinaí Menchaca in the First District Administrative Court in Jalisco, and Felipe de Jesús Delgadillo Padierna in the First Collegiate Administrative Tribunal in the State of Mexico.
  • Assignments also cover figures who did not compete or have faced scrutiny, such as José Rogelio Alanís García to a Mexico City penal tribunal and Álvaro Niño Cruz to the First Federal Labor Tribunal in Oaxaca, as the OAJ rolls out a specialization course for the new cohort.
