Mexico’s Drought Footprint Falls to 21.8% as Rains Erase Drought in Querétaro

Persistent below-average rainfall in northern and northwestern regions has left 173 municipalities facing moderate to exceptional drought

  • Drought coverage shrank by 15.7% since mid-June, according to Conagua’s latest monitoring.
  • Above-average rains from tropical storm Dalia and Hurricane Flossie in May and June eased drought conditions in many regions.
