Mexico’s Customs Agency Reports Record Lázaro Cárdenas Seizure Worth 1.22 Billion Pesos

  • The Aug. 13–24 operation at the Michoacán port assessed 123 containers, conducting 834 recognitions and 383 transport verifications to flag irregular cargo.

  • Authorities embargoed 10.699 million cigarette packs, initiated PAMAS procedures, and targeted misuse of IMMEX while intervening release processes overseen by the Economy Ministry.
  • Narcotics seized included 13 kilograms of fentanyl and 151 kilograms of methamphetamine, according to ANAM.
  • ANAM says the action contributes to year-to-date totals exceeding 2,000 million pesos in contraband seizures and roughly 61 million liters of irregular fuels intercepted.
