  • Ramo 48 (Cultura) would receive 13,097.4 million pesos in 2026, down from 15,081.5 million in 2025, a 13% cut that represents 0.13% of total spending, which a cultural policy specialist says is the lowest share in his records.
  • INAH’s allocation would fall to 4,613.4 million pesos (about 22% less) and INBAL’s to 3,943 million (about 19.4% less) under the draft.
  • The Cineteca Nacional’s fideicomiso would decline from 46.9 million pesos to 44.1 million, nearly a 6% reduction.
  • Select cultural areas would see increases, including the Subsecretaría de Desarrollo Cultural to 692.8 million pesos (up 10.7%) and an allocation of 738.9 million for the Subsecretaría de Diversidad Cultural.
  • By contrast, Secihti (Ramo 38) would rise to 34,860 million pesos, and Congress will consider adjustments before the November 15 approval deadline, with INAH’s new director urging patience for the final figures.
