Overview

• Mexico’s meteorological service forecasts strong to very strong rainfall, with 75–150 mm possible in Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco and Campeche, plus coastal waves of 1.5–2.5 meters.
• Cold Front 8 is expected to produce wind gusts up to 70 km/h in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec and 45–60 km/h across parts of the north and northeast, with a temperature drop in those regions.
• Authorities are monitoring a low-pressure area southeast of Chiapas with potential for cyclonic development and warn of lightning, hail, landslides, river rises and urban flooding as people are urged to follow Protección Civil guidance.

• Argentina’s SMN keeps Buenos Aires mild around 10–22°C while issuing yellow wind alerts for ten provinces with northerlies at 35–50 km/h and gusts to 75 km/h, and Galicia’s AEMET-based forecasts call for persistent cloud, light rain and southerly to southwesterly gusts reaching about 54–56 km/h on Oct. 20.
