Overview
- Mexico’s meteorological service forecasts strong to very strong rainfall, with 75–150 mm possible in Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco and Campeche, plus coastal waves of 1.5–2.5 meters.
- Cold Front 8 is expected to produce wind gusts up to 70 km/h in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec and 45–60 km/h across parts of the north and northeast, with a temperature drop in those regions.
- Authorities are monitoring a low-pressure area southeast of Chiapas with potential for cyclonic development and warn of lightning, hail, landslides, river rises and urban flooding as people are urged to follow Protección Civil guidance.
