Mexico Sets Weekly LPG Caps as Mexicali Edges Up, Regional Spread Persists

Regulators' weekly bulletin points to modest increases with wide regional gaps.

  • For Sept. 28–Oct. 4, the CRE lists Mexicali’s maximum LPG price at 19.80 pesos per kilogram and 10.69 pesos per liter, up 0.04 pesos/kg and 0.02 pesos/l from the prior week.
  • Across Baja California, Tijuana, Tecate and San Felipe share Mexicali’s cap, Playas de Rosarito is set at 19.60 pesos/kg (10.58 pesos/l) and Ensenada and San Quintín at 19.56 pesos/kg (10.56 pesos/l).
  • In Mexico City and the State of Mexico, the CNE reports a minimum of 10.61 pesos per liter with VAT and a local maximum reaching 19.64 pesos per kilogram for the week.
  • CNE data show the highest weekly prices in Baja California Sur at up to 23.16 pesos per kilogram and the lowest in Coahuila at 17.63 pesos per kilogram.
  • These prices apply through Oct. 4 and will be updated in the next weekly bulletin, with regional differences tied to demand and distribution costs.
