- Enrollment opens October 16, 2025 at 145 physical modules nationwide and through the Llave MX platform on a voluntary, cost-free basis.
- Citizens of all ages, including newborns and minors, may apply and the biometric CURP will not replace the INE voter credential.
- The new document carries the same legal weight as an INE card or passport and must be accepted by all public and private institutions.
- Biometric data—fingerprints, iris scans, high-resolution photos and electronic signatures—will be secured with advanced encryption and audit logs in the centralized Plataforma Única de Identificación managed by SEGOB through RENAPO.
- Authorities have published complete application requirements covering birth certificate, official photo ID, proof of address and active email while finalizing security certification of the system.
