Mexico Sets 40-Day Year-End Bonus for Federal Staff as Argentina Confirms November Increases and December Pension Aguinaldo

The coordinated schedules aim to bolster year-end household income under fixed rules on eligibility, timing, inflation.

Overview

  • Mexico’s presidential decree, signed by Claudia Sheinbaum and published in the Diario Oficial, grants federal public servants an aguinaldo equal to 40 days of pay, with disbursements allowed starting November 10.
  • Eligible groups in Mexico include base and trust personnel, Foreign Service members, active military, ISSSTE and federal pensioners, and certain fee-based contractors authorized by the Finance Ministry, with proportional pay for less than a year of service.
  • ISSSTE will split the bonus: a first deposit in the first half of November alongside pensions and a second part in early January 2026, with food vouchers distributed from the second half of November and the December pension credited on November 28.
  • Argentina’s ANSES released the November calendar by DNI, applied roughly a 2.08–2.1% inflation-linked increase to benefits, and continues the $70,000 monthly top-up for low-income pensioners with proportional amounts for those slightly above the minimum.
  • ANSES confirmed the Sueldo Anual Complementario will be paid in December to retirees, PNC and PUAM (excluding AUH), calculated as 50% of the best monthly benefit of the semester without counting the $70,000 bonus, with December’s adjustment to be set after INDEC reports October CPI on November 12.
