Mexico Sets 2026 Goal of 400,000 Homes as ‘Vivienda para el Bienestar’ Exceeds 2025 Target

Officials cite surpassed 2025 formalizations, with land, financing, and credit relief positioned to accelerate 2026 builds.

  • Sedatu reported 393,686 housing constructions formalized in 2025, reaching 102% of the annual goal, alongside 420,000 subsidies and 270,000 property documents that benefited about 970,000 people.
  • Infonavit has 319,467 homes contracted and about 4,700 delivered to date, projects 396,000 more contracts in 2026, and expects roughly 700,000 contracted by year-end with about 500,000 left for 2027–2030.
  • The program targets 1.8 million homes this sexenio, distributed as 1.2 million by Infonavit, 500,000 by Conavi, and 100,000 by Fovissste, with a projected investment of 1.1 trillion pesos.
