Mexico Reports New Border Operation Results: 800 Kg Meth Seized in Tijuana, Cell Dismantled in Tecate

The latest tally from the yearlong campaign reports nationwide arrests topping 10,000 since February.

  • In Tecate, officials reported four detainees with a minor retained while local coverage cited five detainees, and eight firearms, five magazines, 164 rounds, marijuana doses, four tactical vests, 90 caltrops, and a vehicle were secured.
  • The Tecate operation was executed by the State Force with support from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and municipal and federal agencies.
  • Parallel actions included disabling a clandestine meth lab in Culiacán and destroying 46 improvised explosive devices in Badiraguato, as cumulative results reached 10,361 arrests and over 116 tonnes of drugs seized since February 5.
