- Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente announced reinforced preventive actions across Mexico’s U.S. consular network for the Sept. 15–16 celebrations.
- Consulates were instructed to maintain constant contact with ICE, CBP and Border Patrol, intensify local radio messaging, promote the consular hotline and add protection watch teams.
- Guidance to nationals emphasizes avoiding confrontations with authorities, exercising the right to remain silent, requesting consular notification and not signing documents without legal counsel or carrying false or borrowed IDs.
- As of Sept. 10, the SRE reported more than 14,200 legal advisories and 6,939 detention-center visits, including eight at the Everglades facility in Miami where 173 nationals were interviewed.
- The Everglades center continues operating after an appeals court stayed a preliminary shutdown order, and since Jan. 20 a total of 92,583 people have been repatriated with most receiving some form of consular assistance.
