Overview

  • The presidency said multiple diplomatic letters have been sent to Israel seeking the extradition of former AIC chief Tomás Zerón, wanted on torture and disappearance charges tied to the case.
  • Mexico also requested the extradition of two suspects located in the United States, identified in reports as ex Iguala judge José Ulises Bernabé and former SEIDO official Abraham Eslava.
  • Parents of the 43 issued a five‑point demand list that includes delivery of 800 Army folios, renewed analysis of phone records, clarification of 17 students taken to barandilla in Iguala, extraditions, and probes of former Guerrero authorities.
  • A day before the anniversary, hooded protesters used a truck to breach the gate at Campo Militar No. 1 and set the vehicle on fire; Sheinbaum condemned the violence and ruled out a forceful response.
  • A national megamarcha is set to depart at 16:00 from the Ángel de la Independencia to the Zócalo in Mexico City, with the SSC estimating over 3,000 attendees and announcing route closures and security measures.
