Overview
- The Secretaría de Bienestar began in-person registration on Monday, Oct. 19 for Pensión Mujeres Bienestar for Mexican women 60–64 and Pensión para el Bienestar de las Personas Adultas Mayores for people 65 and older, and the period runs through Oct. 25.
- Officials are using an alphabetized schedule by the first letter of the applicant’s first surname to stagger attendance and local Módulos de Bienestar are open daily with hours published on the official portal.
- Applicants must bring an official photo ID, a recent CURP printout, birth certificate, proof of address no older than six months, and contact numbers, and a family member can request a domiciliary visit when mobility or health prevents travel.
- The programs pay by bimonthly transfer through Banco del Bienestar at 3,100 pesos for Mujeres Bienestar and 6,400 pesos for Adultos Mayores, and the 2026 rules say women who turn 65 should be automatically migrated to the higher benefit after internal validation.
- State delegates have warned the 2027 electoral cycle could force operational changes and possible advances or concentration of registrations and payments, with Sonora officials awaiting legal guidance before any adjustments are announced.
