Overview
- Registration, which begins Monday, runs April 13–30 at more than 2,000 Bienestar modules open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
- The first stage prioritizes people aged 85 and older and follows a calendar based on the first letter of the first surname.
- Applicants must bring an official ID, a certified CURP, a birth certificate, proof of address dated within six months, and a contact phone number.
- The credential will serve as an official ID, replace current IMSS and ISSSTE cards over time, and link to an app for appointments, medical history, and hospital availability.
- Officials say Mexicans abroad will be able to get credentialed once a process is defined, and they outline a roadmap that adds a nationwide imaging-interpretation unit by year-end and begins cross-system service-sharing in 2027 with broader consolidation in 2028.
